About Coram

Coram makes small lights that change how a room feels at the end of the day.

The idea started with an ordinary complaint. Most homes are lit for working, not for resting — one bulb in the ceiling, one flat wash of white, exactly the same at eleven at night as it is at nine in the morning. It is efficient, and it is the reason a living room can still feel like an office long after the working day is over.

What we make

Two things, both small enough to sit on a bedside table, both powered by a single USB cable.

The Ripple Glow Lamp is a water-textured acrylic block on a walnut-look base that throws slow, flowing light across a wall in sixteen colours. The Sanctuary Light is a compact projector on a flexible neck that puts one warm image on a wall or a ceiling — made for the corner of a home where somebody wants to be quiet.

How we work

Nothing we sell needs to be drilled, mounted or configured. If a lamp is in the wrong place, you move it. We think that matters more than a feature list, because the most common reason a lamp never gets used is that using it required a decision.

We are also careful about what we claim. Our lights are decorative. They are not reading lights, not emergency or safety lighting, not toys, and they do nothing for your health — we would rather write that here than let a customer find it out later. What they do is change the atmosphere of a room, and they are very good at that one job.

Where we ship

The United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Orders over $50 ship free, and every order has thirty days to be sent back.
